Read the article Use the annotation strategy and colors to annotate the article (hard copy was given in class on Thursday, use the digital copy if you don't have the hard copy)

Make a copy of the chart (attached) to answer the three questions as it pertains to the article(submit in Google Classroom)
Over the course of the week, take a daily account of your activities.  Next to each activity, is a point designation,  each time you do an activity record it in a notebook or piece of paper, making a chart is best. 
Record the numerical value that is given next to the activity that you may have performed that particular day.  
At the end of the week take the average of each individual task/activity and record that on the Personal Eco-Footprint Calculator (if applicable). Some items will be an average some items will be a single event entry.
When you return there will be a debrief and group discussion that will be due at the end of the period.

This is the form (see attached) you will be using to work through your IA topic. Throughout your project you will complete portions of this form in stages then at a later date formulate it into a RESEARCH paper. The topics in BOLD are the topics that you should answer (at this time). The italicized information in parenthesis is a brief description of each topic.

We are ALL Environmental Stewarts (responsible for the WELLBEING of the environment around them) .WE had fun but also learned ALOT about the natural resources around us.  
Video documentation "Video is a valuable tool for creative documentation and it can be used to facilitate information gathering, reporting, dissemination and networking. Video makes it easy to share cultural material with larger audiences."
Each individual group is responsible for uploading pictures/videos to the shared google drive, attached to this class post below. Make sure you label your video/picture with the names of the people in your group. Create a folder with the name of everyone in your group.  Upload your pictures and videos here.  DO NOT COPY anyone's pictures or videos.  I will be able to tell and your group will get a 0 for plagiarism.

Break up into even smaller groups of 3 people
Answer the following questions (attached) based on your experience today.

Read the attached lab for instructions and Pre lab questions.  The prelab and video review and summary can be completed as a group, but each person MUST submit his/her own information.  Write the information in your notebook take a picture of it and turn it in to google classroom BY THE END OF THE CLASS.

Every good research topic or experimental practice begins with a testable topic.  You will spend the next few months intermittently working on your IA (Individual Assessment). The IA is a glorified Lab that will include information that hopefully interests you and is correlated with current Environmental and Social issues.

Use the following resources to assist in selecting, researching and determining the testability of your topic.
 Develop 3 topics of interest with background information for all 3.
Include information concerning the environmental concern
Why you chose this topic
What you plan to do in respect to this environmental concern

If there is no sub today you are to complete the attached document in pairs 

MAKE A COPY    (groups of 2) and turn in to Google Classroom. 
Use the information included as reference if you need any additional assistance. Refer to your copy of the charts/diagrams or the copy of the (same) energy flow diagrams to answer the attached questions.  If there is a sub there is the same copy on my desk.  Complete it and turn it in at the end of class.

Each group should add pictures on the left side of the chart. Make sure you type the names of all members of your group above your picture, select a font color other than black. The color will allow me to track and grade your responses to your classmates photo documentation.  Edit the size of your picture to fit in a reasonable section of the chart space.ie DON'T TAKE UP THE ENTIRE PAGE.

What has global issues have arisen that may be a result of gradual environmental changes
Consider the 3 different EVS viewpoints:

How would they interpret the of pattern events that led up to this point and what would need to be done to begin reversing global warming.


Follow the directions in the attached document. Write your response on a separate document and turn in submit to google classroom by the end of the period.  You can work on this assignment as a group but each individual person should submit an assignment.

Lab Groups: Complete the table below with the names of the people that will be in your group for this activity
Command Terms: As IB students you will be asked to describe, analyze and debate various environmental text and issues.  Based on certain vocabulary or "Command Terms" answers and approaches. This exercise will assist you in the interpretation of these terms in order to answer the questions.

Command Terms Jig Saw:  Refer to the information below (command term jigsaw).  
Each group should complete their own titled section of questions in black (20 minutes) (let the sub know if you need more time)
After each group completes their portion of the jigsaw one person of the group should rotate to all of the other groups in 5 minute intervals.
The person that rotates (facilitator) explains their responses to the other groups.
Each group should write down the information the facilitator explains.  Write down the shared responses in a different color.
The final question is the same for every group.
Each group should collaborate the response for the last (common) question and decide on a common response
